To the love of my life, Happy Birthday!

September 27th, 2009

happybirthdaycoverThree months before his birthday, I already thought of making his birthday a memorable one and I wanted to celebrate it in the place where both of us can have a special bonding together away from home. Our current budget and time cannot afford to go out of the country yet so I think of a trip to Baguio City… I told him this plan and he approved it, I’m so excited!

The weather cooperates to the occasion, I prayed so hard that amidst the storm in Manila, God will keep us safe and let us enjoy this special day, and thank God He answered my prayer. From Baguio, we arrived in Makati safe and the typhoon is gone although we experienced some rainfalls but we ignore it, I tried my best to make him happy on his day so no room for any complaints even how uncomfortable I am with the rain. But when we arrived in the Mall of Asia, the rest of the day was already his day, we had so much fun!

We had lunch in “Burgoo” – I’m amazed with their unique style of having their table covers in a blank white paper and they have coloring materials ready on top, then I found out that we can freely mess the table and write anything on it… then I write a big “happy birthday” greetings to the love of my life… hehe… perfect background which reminds us why were here, it’s his birthday! Less than 15 minute, our food is served – I tried their chef’s choice of soup for the day – the creamy mushroom soup, it’s delicious! The main dish that my hubby picked is one of Burgoo’s best – the Shrimps and Rib’s platter, we enjoyed our lunch up to the last rib! My mango shake is perfect too… the restaurant is cozy and very comfortable, it’s one of the best dining experience.

Then we spent the rest of the afternoon in the Science Discovery Center which highlighted the 45-minute planetarium show, Ice World. Everything we shared together on this birthday is first time and special to me and I’m sure he enjoyed his special day! Indeed a blessed day and a memorable one!

Happy Birtdhay, mwah! 😉

Typhoon Ondoy Experience

September 26th, 2009

I get myself ready to tour the city of Baguio, and it’s a cold Saturday morning… I had mixed feelings – I’m excited at the same time, worried and sad knowing that a typhoon will hit Luzon. I’m worried because the bad weather might totally ruined our tour, but fortunately, Baguio City is not covered by the Typhoon Ondoy, it only drizzled on and off the whole morning and the rain only poured hard late afternoon, just in time our Baguio tour was done. God answered my prayer to give us a chance to enjoy our tour, rain or shine.

When we reached back the hotel and turned on the television, I feel so pity and sad looking at what the typhoon “Ondoy” have done to Manila and the people, the flood is so fierce that it reached high even to 3-story houses and it flashed away many things inside many houses and i can’t believe my eyes looking at the screen on a car flashed away as if it is a piece of paper… These victims needs help, and at the point where I am now, the least I can do is to extend my prayers to them. I thought typhoon Ondoy hit Baguio City in the evening because it rain so hard and the wind is blowing the trees so harshly and we got stranded in SM, we got ourselves soaked in the rain because the taxi line seems endless and it’s already 9:00 in the evening. I’m worried our flight back to Cebu will be cancelled but I draw strength from my hubby and faith in God that we will all reached our destination safe and sound.

The next day, I believe Ondoy is gone… when we reached Manila, we still experienced lots of rain but our flight is on schedule and the airplane even reached the airport back home 20 minutes early. Typhoon Ondoy did not ruined my Baguio tour after all… it was fun and I bring with me good memories of Baguio and the rest is a blessing! 😉

Now, we reached home safe and sound, I reflected that God is so good to me on the same day where the typhoon ruined many lives and many families are now suffering – it’s time for me to show God’s goodness too in my own little way, I thought of buying canned goods and noodles tonight and give it to the donation center. I hope and pray that the victims will be healed in the grace of God.

Feast of Ramadan 2009 (Eid’l Fitr)

September 21st, 2009

This year 2009, September 21 is declared as a Regular Holiday, no work for most of the companies and no classes in schools and universities… but I am here in the office in front of my desktop working… :) well, I’m not complaining because it is a relaxing day to work in the office today, no major issues and tasks pops up in my outlook.

I am reflecting the importance of this occasion where I believe all over the world whether Muslims or not is observing but of course it is a big and important occasion for Muslims. Ramadan or Eid’l Fitr is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar from which all participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and all other ill-natured vices from dawn until sunset. It is also a month of worship and renewal of family ties. I read one article that the sighting of the moon is done by Muslims on the last day of Ramadan… I wonder what is the significant of this activity to them, it says that when the new moon is born before the sunset, Muslims will fast next morning for the first day of their fasting.

I respect this belief of my Muslim brothers but during my Theology lessons before, I did not learn that God commanded us for the moon to be sighted just in order to determine the beginning of the new month. What I believe is that no matter what beliefs we have and how we celebrated each belief, the common denominator is that we have only One same God.

Lunch in Shangri-la – on my birthday

September 20th, 2009

mybirthday015Every birthday of mine always turns out to be exciting! This year, I like to spend it a little more private and intimate… so I filed a birthday leave for the first time in my job history and my friend Anne is right, having a day off on your birthday is like giving yourself a special birthday treat! I feel so relaxed because there’s no need to rush in between break times from work just to celebrate my birthday. So it’s indeed a happy occasion.

I always make it a point to start celebrating my birthday attending the Holy Mass to thank God for the gift of life and for all the blessings he bestow in me the past years and to ask His continued blessings at the coming years. After the mass, the most exciting part is to have lunch in Shangri-la Mactan! Why I’m excited? Well, honestly it’s my first time to this hotel, and I’ve always wanted to be here, bear with my excitement… hehe.

The place is amazing! All the hotel attendants that we met anywhere in the area always carry with them a smile and a greeting which makes me feel welcomed even if stayed there for lunch only. One of the lady attendants freely gave me a tour guide of the place going to the restaurant I booked. I love the scenery from the parking lot, to the lobby, then to the garden, to every restaurant and bar I passed, then the view of their infinity pool and then to the white sand sea shore to the blue wonderful beach. A complete wow! – this is not a review because looking into the place is already an assurance that the hotel is indeed 5-star!

We had my birthday lunch in the hotel’s Aqua Restaurant where we are warmly greeted and welcomed by the store attendant and their waiters… the waiter who attended our orders is very accommodating! I am just an average/middle class citizen but this time I honestly don’t mind how expensive the menu list is because all the services I got deserves it. I love their Calzone and the mango shake is perfect!

This birthday is one of the greatest  because I’m joined with the people who are so dear to me and who loves me, they complete my day.  It’s indeed a ‘Happy, happy birthday!’

Family Day Out

September 20th, 2009

at the mall now

at the mall now

It’s been quite a month already since we don’t go out as a family – it means going out with Claire in our midst and her “yaya”… I need to bring one house help this time since this little girl can now move and run as fast as she could that I personally couldn’t follow and it tires me so easily, hehe… sounds like an impatient mom? Well, not really, I just can’t imagine myself running after her in the mall but I’d love to see her walking in the mall way and looking so amazed by all the glitters and colourful pictures around. I usually let her walk ahead by her own and we are just behind her observing every moves and reactions… such a cute picture to look at, because she is so little yet smart!

We treat her to all the “Bibbo rides” she likes and I’m busy capturing the moments. She don’t usually throw tantrums in public, the more when she is perfectly on the mood and got a good sleep before leaving the house. Oh, I remember that on our next family day, I wish to invite a special guest who personally requested to join her “inaanak”… hehe, will let you know soon dear! i hope we could find time 😉

So today is another one of our perfect family day out, such an ordinary occasion worth to log. :)

Red Logo Lifestyle – perfect for your occasion’s fashion needs

September 20th, 2009

redlogo_corporate01
I bumped into an advertisement in the net that features Red Logo when I look for lifestyles to fit any of my occasions, something that I can shop with and at the same time I can earn… I Google further and find out that they are not just selling one of my favourite brands in the fashion retail: “ForMe”, they are also new to enter the direct selling arena… hhmmm… just like what Avon do huh. Well, after further research, I got convinced and visit their outlet where I find exactly the clothing fashion styles I always wanted to have…

As low as Php 350.00, I get myself registered right away which I’m glad the process is not a hassle, no long talks and explanations, since my first objective is really to enjoy discounted prices. I got my membership Red Logo kit right away, and got their ‘Eight Street for Men’ Red scent for free, my hubby is happy.. hehe…

Yes, I could always try their direct selling which is also a very nice opportunity, but since I really don’t have much time to do that now, I better off to have myself as the only client for now – from now on, instead of looking for a new outfit in the mall, I’ll go to any Red Logo outlet to buy my apparels, they got lots of nice and fashionable outfits from casual to corporate attires. But if anybody is interested to know more about this Red Logo lifestyle, I can always assist you, just drop a message. :)

Check some of the Red Logo products in Occasion Express Shopping and take it from there. You can also visit their website at http://www.redlogolifestyle.com/ for more information. If you are from Cebu Philippines and looking for a direct selling opportunity, then this is a must try.
