I’m saddened about the news of his death. And I can’t help myself from writing my personal reaction of his death… this is my way to extend condolences to the man that changed the world through his many hi-tech innovations and to whom my hubby look up and serve as inspiration in his job as an IT Specialist. The computing industry truly lost a great, unique, and brilliant mind, a one of a kind innovator of the new century!

I started to appreciate the brilliance of this man when I got my new iPhone 2 years ago that made me decide not to get any other new phone even branded one as replacement… because I simply got the best phone in my pocket already! Well, I would definitely get a new one but it should be the upgrade of what I have now… must be iPhone 5

Steve’s innovation of iPod, iPhone, IPAD… are very human that even a 2 year old can already navigate on it… and I love to see my 3 year old able to download a new free game when my iPhone is with her… she loves playing on it and navigating every icons. Oh, it makes me a proud mom, because I didn’t teach her how to use it but she handles and learned it by her own… I owe it to Steve Jobs for bringing an extraordinary UI that is so human and easy to understand.

I think I just don’t admire him now… I love him… My prayer is for his beloved family in this time of grief.

Rest in peace Mr. Job! You will always be remembered! You definitely touched everybody’s lives including little kids.

the cast of the Korean "Boys Over Flowers"

It’s so hard for me to stick and like a tele-series… but this “Boys Over Flower” series hit me big that I don’t sleep much this past few days just watching it over and over again… I heard about it last Christmas vacation where I stayed home to watch TV, and I can’t wait to see the next episode in the TV so I asked my hubby to download all 25 episodes and alas I have them all… hehe… Everybody likes it! It’s even a talk in the office and every weekend, hubby and I and even my little girl bond and watched it! haha… thanks to my addiction!

Boys Over Flower is the Korean version of the original “Hana Yori Dango”, and I appreciate how the cast of this Korean version played the role, they are all fantastic and good! The way they portray it is so funny and so “kilig”! Of all F4, I heart the character of “Gu Jun Pyo”, he is very adorable! I love him from start to finish! You better grab your own copy and watch it with your friends, and with families. Indeed a good series to watch for a bonding occasion!

I reserved 2 tickets a month in advance just to watch Twilight, New Moon movie – and yes! the premiere night is tonight! 1 hour to go and I will be in front of the big screen! When I claimed my ticket this afternoon, I end up waiting for almost 30 minutes… and you can imagine how long the line was towards the movie ticket booth! And all Premiere seats were taken, whew!

I’m not really a fan of Edward but I admire his mysterious character, I hope the movie will be as exciting as reading the book. This will be my first movie premiere experience, because I usually don’t go out on a premiere night because of the crowd, but this time I want to try it and don’t wanna miss the fun! I’m also excited with the new character of Jacob. See you tonight New Moon cast! hehe..

The HSBC Staff on their team building company activity

The WEBOSS Ground Extreme Paintball owners gathered together to the first general board meeting this year and the place I recommend them is the Bigby’s Café and Restaurant in SM Northwing Cebu. The occasion is quite successful because 99% of the board is present plus everybody I believe enjoys the food and the meeting is well organized following the agenda. I mark this occasion because aside from this is the first meeting of the owners this year, it is also the first time for the group to hold the meeting in a cozy restaurant like Bigby’s and the treat is on a ‘company expense’.. hehe… It is amazing to see these young entrepreneurs who ventured into this kind of gaming/entertainment business and see how each of the owners learned the hardship and challenges in the business environment.

I have two things to recommend for this occasion: one is to play paintball with your friends, officemates and even family members and surely play it in WEBOSS Extreme Ground Paintball and the second one is take your food trip after playing in BIGBY’S. A very good and sweet friend of mine shares a very special time with me yesterday, our meeting was short but it indeed rekindle the lost time we did not see and talk to each other. And she is the most generous friend I ever got, I am so grateful to have her as a friend. I am surprised when she handed me a new wallet as a gift from her Hongkong trip, I’m so happy at the same time very touched for her sweetness. My Girbaud wallet needs to be replaced really although it is still useful but it is no longer presentable and having this new special wallet in my bag feels me so good. Honestly, this is the best gift I ever received from a friend, I will treasure this wallet as much as I treasure our friendship .

my busy desk

Today is one of the ordinary occasions at work where I need to review all my pending and in progress projects and tasks. I might be just sitting on my desk for most of my working hours since I don’t have any scheduled meeting in my planner at this point. This is an opportunity for me to go over and review my projects and create documentation and sort all my flagged emails.

I set myself to concentrate on my backlogs today and work harder and forget about the pressing events at work these past few days. I wanted to be just in my desk doing all the day’s work since I’ve been away most of the time from my desk this week, I hope there will be no emergency meetings…

My desk is one of the beautiful place in the office for me… hehe.. even how crowded it looks, but this is the place where I feel so calm and relaxed amidst the pressure at work.

I feel so sad after I realize that some of my officemates are getting retrenched, even how Management tried to hide it, the atmosphere will still continue to reveal it. I heard of big companies forcing to retrench a hundred to thousands of their employees, others reached to the point of closing it. Millions of people lost their job without having a time to prepare. So sad that I told myself, that I am still lucky that I still have my job and I don’t have the right to complain and complain for a benefit that is not duly given, for a low salary, etc… because anything can happen.

Yes, I also fear to lose my job, but one thing for sure, God will always make a way, He will never leave me off handed. This is a very sad occasion I blogged so far but this is also the best occasion to thank God for my job and for the continued blessings He showers upon us. There’s always hope, it’s not yet the end of the world, let’s do something to survive and believe.
