Claire’s Play Group Culminating Activity

May 28th, 2010

on the way to her culminating activity

I’m one of the many proud moms watching my little 2 year old performing in the stage… Sitting in the front row, I can’t help but to clap my hands all over again from start to finish when Claire’s batch perform their “My toes, my knees” song. I’m amazed how she simply cooperates without running and moving around the stage.

We got her certificate of completion and also her report card… and I’m so happy to see all her compiled art projects that according to the teacher, Claire performed them all. I’m just glad we decided to enroll her to this summer activity. Now that summer is over, our little sacrifice to wake up early and change work schedule just to drop and fetch Claire in School is also over,… I can say that it was fruitful and such a great accomplishment as a parent.

Ordinary Occasion at Home

October 24th, 2009

Look who is sitting in my desk? My 2 year old! She keeps on asking me to get out of my seat so she can sit down and use the computer, I could not turn her down even how busy I am… so I let her do things her way and open not the internet of course but a mouse click game, which I believe good for her age. It’s just so amazing kids at this age already knows how to appreciate clicking the mouse and pressing on the keyboards and play computer games… for Claire, she starts to use it by dragging the mouse on the fishes and feed them.

Gone are the days where neighboring children gathered together and go out to the street to play ‘patintero’, ‘chinese garter’, and a lot more… Nowadays, even 2 years old are using the computer… it’s so smart looking and as long as parental guidance is always present, kids will be secured. It’s so cute to look at a little girl touching the keyboards at the same time the mouse seriously, hehe.. can’t help but to grab my cam and capture every move… ;)

Tinker-Claire

October 22nd, 2009

Tinker-ClaireI am not fond of “Tinker Bell” character when I was a kid, but when I joined my little girl watching Tinker Bell’s movie and seeing her enjoyed the colorful and beautiful faces of the pixies and fairies, and its magical stories… I find myself setting aside other important tasks and allow myself to finish the whole movie. I enjoyed it because Claire too! Hhmmm… It gives me an idea to throw a “Tinker Bell” inspired birthday party for her when she turns 3 years old.

One month to go, and it’s her 2nd birthday… hubby and I decided to throw a big party only every other year so I still have a lot of time and budgeting to prepare inorder to throw a Tinker Bell theme kiddie party for her soon… Well, while she is still a little baby, I can decide how the party will go, and by making it a point that the whole family and friends will enjoy and the most challenging part is to really grab what your baby is fond of.

My hint: she is amazed to see Jollibee, she adores her Pooh stuff toys, she shrieks and wow to see Tinker Bell, she dance and follow when the Disney princess dance and moved… and I have to choose one of those.. and I think I love the character of Tinker Bell the most… my little girl gives the sweetest smile when her dad called her “Tinker Claire” and I think it sounds good… hehe.. :)

My little tot’s reads?

March 12th, 2009

I marked this ordinary day a special occasion because I saw another milestone of my little girl’s growth. I am amazed to see her grab a handbook and started to turn pages and mumble words that only she can understand. It makes me laugh all the more when she started to walk while looking on the pages as if she is reading.

What a smart picture with a little 1 yr old girl on it. I read many stories of smart little kids in magazines and internet and it makes me happy, so how much more if my own baby reveals the same smart moves. Every parent wishes to see their child grow intelligent so questions like what and how the intelligence of my child will be enhanced?

I have the following ideas in my list that I got from many sources that will serve me as a guide:

  • give quality time to develop close and intimate relationships
  • encourage a healthy sleep patterns
  • give time to talk to her everyday before going to the office
  • play nursery rhymes
  • smile back with her
  • stimulate engagement with language and ideas by joining her in what she is discovering

But generally, what I believe much so she could be more intelligent is to give her all the attention and love. This is an occasion where another milestone is discovered and makes me proud of my little girl again.

Hhhmm… not to mention that she is starting to appreciate playing the buttons of her Dad’s PSP…

The Walking Milestone

January 27th, 2009

walking confidently
One of the most exciting milestones of my little girl’s progress is watching her walk. My heart leap with joy when I heard my mom telling me on the next line from my IP SoftPhone that her “apo” finally knows how to walk! “Really? It was just yesterday that I got no luck in teaching her how to walk and she was so afraid to step her one foot with no support, and now you are telling me she already know how to walk? That’s a surprise, can’t wait to reach home!”

It is such a wonderful sight to look at when I saw her for the first time walking very carefully trying to reach my embrace. It makes my heart jump with joy at the same time fear of seeing her fall and cry.

ready to walk with daddy's support

At 14 months old, our little girl can now walk confidently in the mall and the proud daddy and mommy are just behind her back watching her cautiously. It is worth a celebration, an occasion of excitement and accomplishment for our part in aiding her to reach this milestone. Most of all I revel in the experience of seeing her walk for the first time and that makes me a very proud mommy.
